A born entrepreneur, Dr. Prato started Envita Medical Centers soon after he graduated from naturopathic medical school.  After watching a close family member die of colon cancer, he knew his vision for his company.  His aunt's colon cancer had metastasized throughout her body.  The traditional chemotherapy and radiation treatments were no longer working for her, and he watched as she traveled to Mexico in a desperate attempt to find an alternative.

Dr. Prato believed that the sick and dying should not have to travel around the world to obtain the best natural medical treatments.  He decided to search out and bring the most effective and cutting-edge treatments from around the world here to the United States, and house them under one roof.  Where the treatments were weak and failed to help patients, Dr. Prato began working with laboratories to come up with the solutions.  He hired a director of laboratory sciences to help begin the work of developing new therapies and treatments.  In so doing, he began pioneering a new area of medicine. 

Envita grew fast and furiously.  People were looking for – demanding - advanced natural treatments, but there were not a lot of facilities that were meeting this demand.  What started as a as a one-room operation with a small and modest staff quickly grew to a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility with a staff of doctors and medical professionals from a range of disciplinary backgrounds.

But the journey has not been an easy one.  Our goal of transforming health care has led us to fight countless long and hard battles.  Envita and Dr. Prato have endured everything from battles with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to betrayal by employees to the ugly reality of the politics of medical boards.  But as Dr. Prato points out, "A pioneer is someone who isn't afraid to get hit with arrows in the back.  A pioneer is someone who continues to fight and stand strong and see the journey to its victorious end, even when it seems impossible."  Dr. Prato will be the first to tell you that Envita has become better because of the battles it's faced.

In fact, the obstacles we have faced have forced us to become the best in our field.  We have been held to a higher standard than others in our industry, and as a result, we are able to offer patients the most advanced treatments nature has to offer.  Additionally, we have achieved the unprecedented honor of being one of the first natural medical clinics to have been approved for a Phase I clinical biological trial for the treatment of cancer.  Our journey has also led us to develop and build incredible media-based educational resources in an attempt to bring the knowledge of advanced natural medicine to patients and to the forefront of the healthcare debate.

Today, Envita combines the best of traditional and natural medicine in an effort to provide patients with the most comprehensive care possible.  In many ways, Envita is ahead of its time, employing a cutting-edge approach that represents the future of medicine.
